PORTLAND, OR – Four Multnomah County Library locations will serve as ballot drop-off sites during the September 2005 Special Election. Fairview-Columbia, Gresham, Midland and Rockwood libraries will provide ballot boxes at their circulation desks during regular business hours from Friday, Sept. 2 through Election Day, Tuesday, Sept. 20 — except Sept. 5 and Sept. 12-14, when all libraries will be closed and will not accept ballots (see below).

Voters may also deposit their ballots 24 hours a day, until 8 p.m. on Election Day, into the outdoor ballot drop boxes located at Gresham and Midland libraries.

All Multnomah County libraries will be closed on Sept. 5 for Labor Day and from Sept. 12-14 for the migration of the library's new catalog, and ballots will not be accepted inside the libraries on those dates. Those who wish to submit ballots when libraries are closed may do so at the outdoor ballot drop boxes at Gresham and Midland libraries or at the Multnomah County Elections office, 1040 S.E. Morrison St., Portland.

Visit the library's website at www.multcolib.org for more information about the library closure.
