About Hollywood Library

Hollywood Library has been serving its Northeast Portland community since 1917, although not always called by the same name nor located in the same spot. In 2002, Hollywood found a new home in a mixed-use, four-story building — the result of an innovative joint venture between public and private sectors. Read more about Hollywood Library history.

Multnomah County Library's systemwide catalog — two million books, periodicals, music, movies and more — serves patrons of Hollywood Library and all neighborhood libraries. Hollywood also houses collections of materials in Spanish and Vietnamese. Patrons enjoy e-books and downloadable music; research and reading resources; and library events and services, including those especially for kids and teens.

Author Beverly Cleary's books are set in the Hollywood Library neighborhood. A spacious children's area includes a stone wall map of Beverly Cleary landmarks.

Hollywood's meeting room is available at no charge for community meetings and events on a first-come, first-served basis. It has a 50-person capacity. Small study rooms are also available and may be reserved for two hours per day.
