About Midland Library

Midland Library opened in its mid-county home in 1996. It replaced the Midland Branch Library building, in operation since 1958. Read more about Midland Library history. At 24,000 square feet, Midland Library is the largest branch of the Multnomah County Library. Customers enjoy its landmark clock tower and its spacious interior with views of Midland Park.

Multnomah County Library's systemwide catalog — two million books, periodicals, music, movies and more — serves patrons of Midland Library and all neighborhood libraries. Midland also houses collections of materials in Spanish, Chinese, Russian and Vietnamese, and has bilingual staff in all four languages. Patrons enjoy e-books and downloadable music; research and reading resources; and library events and services, including those especially for kids and teens.

Check Event Finder for programs at Midland Library. Midland's meeting rooms are available at no charge for community meetings and events on a first-come, first-served basis. The large room has an 80-person capacity; the small room, 15.
