About Northwest Library

Northwest Library opened in 2001 in a historic Northwest Portland building that has been home to a pharmacy, a potter's workshop and, most recently, a winery and café. Read more about Northwest Library history.

Multnomah County Library's systemwide catalog — two million books, periodicals, music, movies and more — serves patrons of Northwest Library and all neighborhood libraries. Northwest patrons also enjoy e-books and downloadable music; research and reading resources; and library events and services, including those especially for kids and teens.

Northwest's meeting room is available at no charge for community meetings and events on a first-come, first-served basis. It has a 30-person capacity.
