Reach Out and Read®
Reach Out and Read® (ROR) is a national pediatric early literacy program that turns healthcare practitioners into early literacy advocates. Endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, ROR encourages parents to begin reading to their children beginning at birth. When children from birth to age five come to clinics for routine health visits and immunizations, they receive a free book and a "prescription" for their parents to read to them for 15-20 minutes a day.
