Zine Donations

Policy
Currently, the Multnomah County Library can only accept zine donations under very special circumstances.
Why
Zinesters' work is valuable and they deserve to get paid. Multnomah County Library is a large institution and has a budget that allows it the room to pay for zines.
It is extremely labor intensive to make zines ready for use. Because of this, the library has to make careful decisions about new materials that are added to the Zine Collection. For more information on the kinds of zines the library acquires, see the collection policy.
Multnomah County Library has eighteen branches, nine of which currently have zines. Part of the reason the zine collection is at different locations is to make it readily available to a wide group of library users. However, it is also more cost effective to catalog and process multiple copies of zines, and the library purchases multiple copies of any new titles.
What to do
If you would like to suggest a zine for the library's collection, please complete a suggestion for purchase and give as much information as you can as to where the library can purchase multiple copies.
If you are interested in donating your zine, you have multiple copies and you think it fits the library's collection policy, then contact us.
Please send us any questions and comments, we really do want to hear from you!
