Pay fines/charges
You can pay:
- Online – log in to your account to pay your fines with a Visa or Mastercard. Questions about paying online?
- By phone – call Renewal Line at 503.988.5342 (see note below.)
- In person – visit the Circulation Desk at any library location
- By mail – send your check, payable to Multnomah County Library, to
Circulation Services

To see what fines and fees are on your account, log in to your account. Fines are listed under account detail.
Fines for adult materials:
25¢ per day up to a maximum of $10 per item per renewal period
Fines for children's and young adult materials:
10¢ per day up to a maximum of $5 per item per renewal period
Fee for shipping holds:
$2 per item
If you lose or damage items, you may also be charged repair or replacement fees. Please pay fines promptly to avoid accumulation and possible collection action.
Note: Automated Renewal Line services are available 24 hours a day. To speak with a staff person, call during Central Library's operating hours.
