A celebration in honor of International Literacy Day
Representatives from colleges and nonprofit and community-based organizations in Multnomah County will be on hand to meet each other and learn of opportunities to partner.
Resources:
For adults seeking citizenship, GED certificates, English language learning and reading improvement, the celebration is a perfect opportunity to come and have all the experts in one room.
Interpretation in Chinese, Russian, Somali, Spanish and Vietnamese will be available.
1-3 p.m.
The organizations will be available to talk informally about the work they do and about the tools they provide to help adults achieve what they want to learn.
4-5 p.m.
- Enjoy a light supper/snack of Thai finger food.
- Space is limited for the refreshments; free tickets for seating will be available at 3:30 p.m.
5-7 p.m.
- Join Colored Pencils Art and Culture Council to see New Portland in action.
- This performance celebrates literacy through readings, songs and dances.
- Share in the power that comes from story, from art, from writing, from reading.
