Finding Books in the Library Catalog
You can look for books about relocation in the library catalog. There are several ways to search and several types of books to investigate. You might try travel guidebooks or books for retirees. Below are some different methods you can use to find books:
Keyword search
For information on the culture and lifestyle of specific cities and regions, you may also wish to look at travel books. Search for them in the Keyword search, choosing Subject from the drop-down menu on the left. Then use terms such as:
- seattle guidebooks
- new england guidebooks
- ireland guidebooks
Subject search
For resources that compare and contrast cities, use Subject search. (If you're in the Keyword search, select Subject from the library catalog's more search options menu on the right side of the screen.) Then try one or more of the following options:
- Cities and Towns -- Ratings -- United States
- Metropolitan Areas -- United States -- Statistics
- Retirement, places of
- Social indicators -- United States
For more specialized relocation information, try Subject and then one or more of the following:
- Cost and Standard of Living
- Criminal Statistics -- United States
- Moving, Household
- Retirement Communities -- United States -- Directories
- United States -- Climate
