A Kids' Tour of Central Library
What will I see at Multnomah County's Central Library?

Do you see the Cheshire Cat, the White Queen and the White Rabbit?
The Central Library is a beautiful place, built in 1913. Many tour groups from schools all over the Portland metro area come to visit. In the Beverly Cleary Children's Library, you'll see a sculpture of "Alice in Wonderland" by Florence Thomas, circa 1930.
Can you see the deer and the octopus?
How many things can you find?
You'll see a bronze tree sculpture "Preserving a Memory" by Dana Lynn Lewis and Barbara Eiswerth.
You can run your hands over the trunk and see and feel all of the things the artists put into it, just the way you will discover all the things authors and illustrators have placed in the library's books, tapes and other materials. Learn more about the Bronze Tree in Children's Library.
