Library Outreach provides programs to Multnomah County’s immigrant community with programs like citizenship classes and English conversation groups, held in branches throughout the county. For more information on these programs, and our adult literacy programs, call Melissa Madenski, adult literacy coordinator, at 503.988.6318.
- English for Speakers of Other Languages
- Resources for adult learners
- Citizenship Classes
- Classes to help you prepare to take your citizenship examination are held at neighborhood libraries throughout the county. In six sessions, you will learn about becoming a citizen, learn the hundred questions and practice interviewing.
- Talk Time Groups
- Talk Time is an informal conversation circle for non-native speakers to practice speaking English. This is not a class, but an opportunity to meet new people, share your culture and have fun. Only English will be spoken.
