Northwest Library to host "Let's Talk About It: Jewish Literature" reading and discussion series

PORTLAND, OR Multnomah County Library will host a five-part reading and discussion series called "Let's Talk About It: Jewish Literature Identity and Imagination." The series explores Jewish literature and culture through scholar-led discussions of contemporary and classic books on the theme of exile and homecoming.
All programs will be held from 6:307:30 p.m. at Northwest Library, 2300 N.W. Thurman St., Portland. Dates and titles are as follows:
- Tuesday, January 16: Lost in Translation by Eva Hoffman
- Tuesday, February 6: Mr. Sammler's Planet by Saul Bellow
- Tuesday, March 6: Out of Egypt by André Aciman
- Tuesday, April 17: The Centaur in the Garden by Moacyr Scliar
- Tuesday, May 15: Kaaterskill Falls by Allegra Goodman
The reading and discussion series is free and open to the public. Interested readers are encouraged to register and pick up a copy of the first book at Northwest Library.
Dr. Laura Leibman, Associate Professor of English and Humanities at Reed College, will serve as discussion leader for the series.
