Hillsdale Library to host "Let's Talk About It: Jewish Literature" reading and discussion series

PORTLAND, OR Multnomah County Library will host a five-part reading and discussion series called "Let's Talk About It: Jewish Literature - Identity and Imagination." The series explores Jewish literature and culture through scholar-led discussions of contemporary and classic books on the theme of exile and homecoming.
All programs will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Hillsdale Library, 1525 S.W. Sunset Blvd., Portland. Dates and titles are as follows:
- Tues., Feb. 7 Lost in Translation by Eva Hoffman
- Tues., March 7 Mr. Sammler's Planet by Saul Bellow
- Tues, April 4 Out of Egypt by André Aciman
- Tues., May 2 The Centaur in the Garden by Moacyr Scliar
- Tues., June 6 Kaaterskill Falls by Allegra Goodman
The reading and discussion series is free and open to the public. Interested readers are encouraged to register and pick up a copy of the first book at Hillsdale Library.
Dr. Laura Leibman, Associate Professor of English and Humanities at Reed College, will serve as discussion leader for the series.
Multnomah County Library is one of 200 libraries nationwide receiving grants to host the series developed by Nextbook and the American Library Association (ALA).
