Free Writers Resource Fair to take place March 12

PORTLAND, OR Multnomah County's Central Library (801 S.W. 10th Ave., Portland) will host a free Writers Resource Fair on Sunday, March 12, from noon-4 p.m. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Attendees are invited to meet and talk with representatives of organizations offering support and opportunities for writers. Participating organizations include Creative Arts Community, Friends of Mystery, Friends of William Stafford, Haystack Summer Program in the Arts (Portland State University), Literary Arts, Media Weavers, Mountain Writers Series, National Writers Union, Northwest Independent Editors Guild, Northwest Independent Scholars Association, Northwest Lawyers & Artists and Willamette Writers.
A Small Press Book Sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Library Foundation, will also be held. Booksellers and small presses include Alder Press, The Attic, Independent Publishing Resource Center, Katsura Press, Mountains & Rivers Press, Northwest African American Writers, Northwest Association of Book Publishers, Oregon Cultural Heritage Commission, Oregon Writers Colony, Sisters in Crime and Write Around Portland.
In addition, participants can take a guided tour of the rare books in the John Wilson Special Collections from 1-3:30 p.m., visit the Sterling Room for Writers and visit the Friends' Library Store for refreshments and special discounts on merchandise and memberships.
The Writers Resource Fair is organized by the library's Sterling Room for Writers Committee. The Sterling Room for Writers provides writers with space for convenient access to the holdings of Multnomah County Library.
