The Education collection contains practical materials for elementary and secondary school teachers, college-level works on education theory, and general interest materials on a wide variety of education-related topics such as school reform, home schooling, and books aimed at parents of school-aged children.
This collection includes a large number of standard test guides (for the SAT, GRE, GED, and others), as well as many college and trade school comparison guides, scholarship directories, and other titles intended to help people who are getting ready to attend college. Since test guides, scholarship information, and school comparison guides become outdated quickly, this part of the Education collection is constantly being weeded and replenished.
The library also maintains a non-circulating collection of directories, encyclopedias, and other reference works on education. Examples are: collections of biographies of educators, works on education systems around the world, and materials on the history of education.
Teachers and school staff members, graduate education students, parents, and high school students all use the Education collection. Primary and secondary school teachers are perhaps our heaviest users.

Some materials on home schooling are part of the Social Science collection. At Central Library, this collection is kept in the Science & Business room.
