Steven Johnson is the author of the national bestsellers The Invention of Air, Everything Bad Is Good for You and Mind Wide Open: Your Brain and the Neuroscience of Everyday Life. His other books include Emergence: The Connected Lives of Ants, Brains, Cities, and Software and Interface Culture: How New Technology Transforms the Way We Create and Communicate. In addition, he has worked as a columnist for magazines such as Discover, Slate and Wired, and his writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Nation, Harper's, the Guardian, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He is a Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University and lives with his family in Brooklyn.
