The Literature Resource Center possesses an immense collection of biographies, bibliographies, critical essays, work overviews, author-related websites, and timeline events. This includes full text of articles from literary journals. While the database is particularly strong in covering current authors, biographical and critical information for significant historical authors is also included.

Use this database to answer questions like:

What is the birthdate of Barbara Kingsolver? I need a brief summary of Sophocles' Antigone. I need three critical essays on Catcher in the Rye.

Coverage

The foundation of the Literature Resource Center is built on the Gale Group's three hallmark author databases: Contemporary Authors Online, offering biographical coverage of more than 120,000 writers; Contemporary Literary Criticism Select, featuring entries on all authors appearing in CLC since vol. 95 of the print series and complete profiles of 266 most studied authors from editions prior to vol. 95; and Dictionary of Literary Biography Online, containing more than 10,000 biocritical essays on authors and their works written by academic scholars. Selections from the Gale For Students series and the older critical sets is also selectively included.
