Assignment Alert
A service provided by the Multnomah County Library School Corps for teachers and school library staff working in Multnomah County schools.
Teachers and School Library Staff:
Use this form to share your assignments with the Multnomah County School Corps librarians. We will work with you and the librarians at your local Multnomah County Library branch to make it easier for you and your students to get the information resources you need.
What we can provide for you:
- Booklist (Grades K-12): If we don't have a Bucket of Books on your topic, check our booklist Web site, which has copies of our most popular booklists and instructions on how to create your own Bucket of Books using the lists. If your topic is not listed on the booklist site, we can create a customized booklist on a subject for your audience and send one copy of each book on the list to a nearby library for you to check out. Requires a three-week lead time.
- Webliography (see an example) (Grades K-12): Let us create an annotated list of websites on a subject for your audience. Check the Homework Center to see if the library has already collected and annotated websites on your topic.
- Pathfinder (see an example) (grades 3-12): Will your students be visiting the Multnomah County Library to do research? We can create a guide to starting public library research on a topic for your students.
- Visit from a School Corps Librarian (grades 3-12): A School Corps librarian can visit your classroom to show students how to access library resources for help with their assignment.
Fill out this form and we'll pull together materials for you and alert librarians at your local library about your class topic.
You must be a teacher or school library staff person in a Multnomah County school in order to use this service.
