Get Carded

What is Get Carded!?

Get Carded! is a library card campaign for middle and high schools in Multnomah County, presented by the Multnomah County Library School Corps. We want every student, faculty and staff member in the county to have a Multnomah County Library card.

A library card is the key to the fullest use of Multnomah County Library's information resources. In addition to being able to check out public library materials, students and teachers who have Multnomah County Library cards are able to access many of the library's databases (including The Oregonian, Teen Health and Wellness, World Book Encyclopedia, and Gale's Literature Resource Center) from school or home, place holds on Multnomah County Library materials, and use the Internet when they visit the public library.

Get Carded! will run from March 1 through April 16, 2010.

Get Carded! is made possible in part by The Library Foundation.

How can I sign up?

The 2010 Get Carded campaign is over, but School Corps will offer this program again in a few years.

Where do I send library card applications?

Turn in the applications to your school's Get Carded! coordinator. Coordinators can send completed library card applications to:

Multnomah County Library School Corps
205 NE Russell
Portland, OR 97212

Applications can also be dropped off at any Multnomah County Library branch. Remember that if students are under the age of 13, library card applications must be signed on the back by the student and parent before they are submitted.

What will I get?

Students and teachers who already have Multnomah County Library cards or who apply for them during Get Carded! will receive a coupon card with offers from the following area businesses:

The offers will be good for the month of May 2010. Coupon cards are not available at local libraries; they can only be earned through the School Corps program.
