North Portland Computer Lab Instructions
Making a reservation
- Reservations are required and accepted up to one week in advance. Sign up at North Portland Branch Library or call 503.988.4810.
- You may reserve a computer for one-hour blocks of time. You are allowed two hours per day and up to six hours per week.
- If you visit the lab without a reservation, the lab monitor may allow you to use a vacant computer. If all the machines are in use, you may reserve a machine for a later time.
Getting started
- Check in with a lab monitor. The lab monitor will ask for a valid Multnomah County Library card or other identification and assign you to a computer.
- If you do not check in within 15 minutes of your reserved time, your computer may be assigned to another person.
Tip: Don't have a library card? Find out how to get one.
Using a computer
- Lab monitors are available to help you. They can assist you to the extent that time and other customer needs allow.
- You may use all the programs installed on the computers, but you may not download or install new software onto the machines.
- Printing with the lab's color laser printer costs 10¢ per page.
- You may use your own storage diskettes or purchase one from the library for 50¢.
Leaving the lab

- Leave promptly when your time ends.
