Sign up your class for Summer Reading
It's nearly time for Summer Reading at Multnomah County Library. Our 2008 program begins June 13. This year teachers can sign up their students in grades K-12 for Summer Reading while they are still in school. Use the Fax Cover Sheet (pdf) and Class Roster (pdf) forms to register your class for Summer Reading. Fill out and fax the forms to Multnomah County Library no later than May 12, 2008. The school promotion ends on May 12, so students who want to sign up after that point will need to sign up at their local library starting June 13. We'll mail gameboards to your school by early June, so that your students receive them before school ends. Beginning June 13, children ages 018 who have not signed up at school may sign up for Summer Reading at their local library.
Download promotional flyers in English (pdf), Spanish (pdf) and Russian (pdf).
Privacy of Student Information
The library collects the child's name, age, and school to verify that each student plays the game only once. This information is not shared with other parties, and at the end of the summer, all children's names are purged from the Summer Reading database.
Summer Reading Video for Classroom Viewing
Get the scoop on Summer Reading from Chen and Sophie and the Nosey Kids News by watching our animated 6-minute Summer Reading video! The video can be used as a classroom tool to explain and spark student interest in the Summer Reading program.
