Grades 6-8 Poetry Runner Up: "Radiant flower" by Elise Soumokil
Even after a rain storm or winter frost, even when you think all is lost, you come out with dew drops on your petals and for once everything seems to settle. You look to the sky where eagles soar. When you look at yourself and notice you have come out more radiant than ever before. Sparkling dew drops, facing the sun, you realize better days have just begun. So know this my friends, though storms will arise, you will soon be welcomed by a new sunrise and in the light you will see you have become more beautiful than ever could be. Though nasty storms come and go, we know, that those bad times will help us grow.
