Submit an entry to the Teen Writing Contest
The deadline to enter the writing contest has passed. When the council completes their judging, the winners and runners-up will be posted.
Participate in a writing contest planned, sponsored, and judged by members of the Hollywood Library's Teen Council, with gift cards from Powell's Books as prizes.
$75 gift cards to Powell's Books will be awarded to the following winners:
- Best prose entry, grades 6 - 8
- Best prose entry, grades 9 - 12
Runners up in each of these categories will receive a $25 gift card for Powell's.
The contest is open to Multnomah County residents in grades 6-12. Submissions must be in English and no longer than 1,500 words. The library will be accepting entries until January 25, 2010, or until there are 200 submissions, whichever comes first. There are several ways to send submissions: Fill out the form below, e-mail mclcontest@hotmail.com, send surface mail to Hollywood Library (4040 N.E. Tillamook St., Portland OR 97212, attn: Larry Randall), or drop off your submission at any Multnomah County library.
