Becoming a Library Volunteer

The library offers a diverse range of opportunities to volunteer. Each position requires varying lengths of commitment and training. However, the steps to apply are the same for everyone:

  1. Review the available opportunities
  2. Interested in volunteering? Apply online or download a PDF.
  3. Once your application is received and reviewed you will be invited to attend a Volunteer Information Meeting. At the meeting you will learn more about the library, the volunteer program and have an opportunity to interview with staff.
  4. NOW….you are close to becoming a Multnomah County Library Volunteer! Volunteer Services works with library locations and programs to make a placement that best fits your volunteer interests and the library’s needs.
